I know you have heard of miso blackcod but have you heard of miso salmon? This has quickly turned into one of my favorites because of the sweet flavor that pairs well with the texture salmon.
Ingredients
6-8 ounces of salmon (we used sockeye but any of the 4 species we carry will work)
1 tablespoon miso
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinagar
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon of spicy honey (maple syrup will work)
Dash of salt to taste
For the garnish we added green onions
Instructions
Whisk the miso, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and honey together into a bowl until the miso somewhat dissolved in the marinade (a few clumps will be fine).
Place the salmon in a bag (we like to use the vacuum sealed bags they come in) and add the marinade.
Soak the salmon in the marinade for 2-4 hours.
30 min before cooking the salmon place the salmon at room temperature and preheat your oven to broil.
Place the salmon on a baking pan with tin foil that has been lightly brushed in oil
Broil the salmon for 5-7 min for a thinner fillet, or 7-10 min for a thicker fillet. (We cooked the piece of salmon in the picture for 6 1/2 min just for a reference)
Take the salmon out of the oven and let it cool off till its ready to be served.
Add garnishes of your choice and we recommend a Japanese styled rice with it.
Enjoy
